Every 11 episodes, we do these very special episodes that are more candid, where I answer listener questions and share a behind the scenes look at my life and business.

Question 1: What’s the most magical way to review last year and make goals for next year that feel expansive and possible?

Question 3: How hard was it to openly build a business with a spiritual emphasis? Were you afraid?

  • I started as a general marketing agency because I thought it would be easier to get clients

  • When you niche you can command higher prices - 

    • check out last episode where I talk about niching & commanding premium prices

  • Yes, it was scary in some ways… but I kept old clients & only got rid of old ones when I knew I could replace them

  • I’ve been the breadwinner of my relationship for the last 8 years

    • That started at $2500-3500/month

    • I had to make money to pay our bills. I lived extremely frugally. I also never had a corporate job to support me - I’ve always been a freelancer so me & my work & my brain has always been how I support myself.

      • Of course now I’ve switched that to my business supporting me - which is what I work with clients on so they don’t feel like it’s all on them / they can feel supported by their team & by the soul of their biz & systems and automations

  • MM question of how I’ve always been consistent with my biz - because I had to. Because consistency was more important than income leaps.

  • I’ve been a super sensitive person - I needed a lot of safety in my nervous system so I simply started creating an audience around spirituality

  • I had evidence of spiritual marketing - I was a launch manager & tech magician for an astrology company who’s CEO used a ton of spirituality in biz

  • I knew it was possible

  • All my friends are weird magical people

  • But had to get over what college friends think

    • Culling social media list

    • Rip bandaid off

    • So much self love 

    • Teach yourself to have your back no matter what

      • This will help with launches / not hitting goals - You won’t set big goals if you’re an asshole to yourself when you don’t hit it

      • Commit now to loving yourself & having your own back no matter what

Question 4: How much time do I need to do 1:1 coaching before I can expect a successful launch of a membership program?

I’m going to answer this 2 ways.

The first you won’t like.

I really really don’t recommend doing a membership program. From being on the backend of 3 7 figure membership programs, they are VERY expensive to run.

  • $40K/month team expenses

  • Plus huge energy expenditure to constantly create content for it

Launch a group program instead - then a course.

Plenty of coaches recommend waiting until you have a waitlist until doing.

I started doing group before 1-1 - because I had years of experience in my field & had strategy & coaching w/in marketing work.

But it matters if you’re asking this because you don’t have much experience or if you’re afraid you don’t have a big enough audience to buy.

  • If you’re willing to have no one sign up then you’re ready to launch a group program.

  • If you’re asking bc you don’t know if you have enough experience, wait. As you keep working with clients then it’ll become SO OBVIOUS what your course or program will be about.

Question 5: What’s the best way to start investing in your business while you still require income from another job/gig/source?

  • I’ve heard coaches recommend investing $100K in biz before really taking profits

  • Like I said - I’m the breadwinner

  • Don’t get me wrong I have invested VERY heavily into my biz - like $100K in courses and trainings and mentors over the years, $10K each month on my team & software.

  • Learn how to sell - sales training

  • Marketing - How to write & good messaging

  • Money mindset

  • You can afford to hire a VA - delegate the things that frustrate you that you have to do

    • Commenting, posting everywhere, emails

    • Don't add things that don’t actually matter

    • Focus on what only you can do

Now…

I’m sure a lot of you are fully in the holiday season now planning all your gifts and scheduling time with your family, which can be really fun… but this is also the time of year when business owners tend to come up against time constrictions and struggle to balance their personal life with their business. 

So much of this season is about coming together with family and friends, but if your business isn’t set up in a way that allows you to step back for days - or even weeks - at a time while your business runs on its own, you’re probably just going to overextend yourself and end up missing out on family time anyway because you have to check those last-minute emails.

So I wanted to share some of the experiences of my 1-1 coaching clients who have recently gotten a ton of time back in their lives because of the systems and business.

  • Ann - realized actually already at goal for the year so doing a mini launch for fun this month - repurpose 90% of last launch & hit stretch goal in ½ the time

  • Kathryn - I took an entire month of vacation 2 weeks before a $250,000 launch.

  • Krystal - Only has about 15 hours a week bc of kids & is ¼ of the way to her launch goal before opening cart

  • Ash - At $200K this year but working full time - look back at day & doesn’t know what she did - cut out all the bullshit tasks - increase profit margin

  • Carolyn - hired team to run her membership for her

So this is your friendly reminder that you can have a multiple-6- and 7- figure business WITHOUT it taking over your life. You can have a business where you’re taking off for full weeks during the holidays to take advantage of the family and friend time. It’s 100% available for you if you’re willing to do the material, spiritual, and mindset work.
