What is Dirty Alchemy?
Dirty alchemy is the magic of diving into the taboo.
The rejected, the ones sacred. It’s revealing the parts of you that are hidden from yourself. And healing through the acceptance, the celebration of that which is stuffed down, locked away and starved. Did you really think that would work??
Dirty alchemy is recognizing that the most important things to us maybe off-putting to the social programming.
Look at dirt. It’s a basic need for life on this planet. We need it to grow food and we need the millions of organisms and micro organisms that support growth. That support farming.
Dirt is sacred. But “dirty” is profane. We use it to mark inappropriate language and perversions. You’re not allowed into the house because you’re too dirty. Your dirty talk is kept in the bedroom with open partners.
Something so sacred – the fertile soil that sustains us - is taught to us, manipulated to be, a thing to stay away from and avoid and wash off.
Dirty alchemy is taking back what has been made secret. And realizing that everything in life is sacred. Everything in us is sacred.
It’s relaxing into an opening up to those hidden bits of our psyches that whole pure gold.
Some scientist say we’re down to 1% of the topsoil that we had on the planet - flushing it away through erosion and runoff – through bad agriculture and pure disrespect.
As we label parts of life, parts of ourselves, as profane, as shame worthy – we flush it away… And we drastically limit our capacity to grow and to flourish.

It’s when we open up to the messy bits, our fucked up-ness, that we become our whole selves. And our whole selves are the selves that will bring us the most pleasurable life. Our whole self will attract the customers we want, the people we want to work with, the opportunities and experiences.
When we shove down parts of ourselves and only show the parts we deem as “acceptable,” we’re actually setting ourselves up for painful lessons. We’re setting ourselves up for reality to give us the opportunity to heal and become whole. Usually in interesting ways that our egos will hate.
When fertile topsoil flows into the ocean due to poor land management, you see algal blooms, fish die off, ocean acidification. In your life you may see business drying up, problem clients, and a truly disappointing dating scene. You’ll be asked to step up and face that which you’ve pushed into the shadows.
Because only when you stop lying to yourself about the whole spectrum of your being and the joy of experiencing at all – only then will you find your full power and capacity to have it all.
So. That’s dirty alchemy.

And when you view what you once thought of as not good enough or as bad or wrong – when you start elevating that with reverence – you give those around you that level of respect and acceptance and you’ll see mirrored back to you in your entire reality.
