Why Everyone Should Be a Successful, Lazy Bitch with Rachel Symington

Rachel Symington is a menstrual mentor, feminine business guide and Queen of making things easier! She empowers women by combining modern business strategy with ancient wisdom to live in alignment with their menstrual cycle, the seasons and moon cycle, to lead a fulfilling and abundant life.

“You’re already a successful, lazy bitch. You just need to realize that.”

How can we use our menstrual cycle to make our business succeed even more? (18:00)

Rachel teaches that everything shifts during the monthly hormonal cycles that many women have. She recommends that you change how you approach your business during different phases of your hormonal cycle. The patriarchy values the phases of your cycle when you are highly energized to work, and frowns upon the phases when you feel less inclined to work.

Rachel believes that every phase of the cycle is equally sacred. She plans her podcast appearances and sales calls during her ovulation when she is most energized, whereas when she is menstruating she can perform the same tasks, but it takes a lot more out of her and involves more self-care. That way she’s swimming with the current instead of against it.

"If I'm grounded and connected, I can handle anything."

How to figure out what archetype you are currently in. (22:15)

Some people say they don’t know if they are in the Queen, Maiden, Enchantress, or Crone phase… every time Rachel asks her clients to sit with it and meditate on how they feel, they can tune into which phase they’re in. And because that’s how they feel, that’s correct.

Rachel’s take on being the sole income earner. (29:20)

Rachel has been the sole breadwinner for her family since 2015, and she’s definitely felt the pressure due to insecurities around having enough money when she is the sole income earner. The perspective shift away from thinking “this is all on me” and instead toward thinking “my husband takes care of the family by maintaining the house” has been helpful in her feeling less of the pressure of earning, because she knows it isn’t all her and she’s not alone. He is there to support her with her mentors and friends. Plus, it’s hot that he takes the reins on taking care of the kiddos!

"Don't fall prey to the belief that you have the 'earn your dues.' Know your worth from the start."
