How to do Cold Pitch Magic

Cold pitches get a bad rap.

That's probably because 99.9% of them are rage-inducingly thoughtless and sleazy.

So if your initial reaction to the idea of cold pitch is “ughhhhhhh” followed by vomit emojis, believe us, we get it.

It’s true; most cold pitches suck. But guess that? That doesn’t mean there isn’t a way to do it right.

Cold pitches — when done honorably and thoughtfully — can open doors and land you seemingly impossible opportunities.

Here are some examples…

When I started my business as a marketing strategist, I was really good at what I did… but didn't really have an "audience" or a "network" to build my business with. I didn't even live in a big city where I could schmooze around!

But thanks to the art of cold pitching, I landed a "holy fucking shit I can't believe I get to work with you!!!" client in my first year in business…

…which then turned into tons of opportunities, referrals, visibility, and new clients — including Simone Seol, which has now turned into a 4-year partnership!

But my example is far from the only one.

A good cold pitch can save a 300-year-old business, as it happened when Margaret Zayer approached the owner of a dying company to ask for a job.

Or it can catapult an unknown writer into bestselling author, as it happened when Sahara Rose ran up to a stage and cold-pitched the Deepak Chopra to write the foreword of her book.

Want to learn the magic behind it all?

Simone & I distilled a simple, powerful, and heart-centered process to writing great cold pitches that anyone can follow to create extraordinary results in their business. And we are going to teach you all of it in an action-packed 2-hour class called Cold Pitch Magic.

If you want to create something, you have to start with imagining it, right? So, let’s do some imagining. What would it do for your business if you could:

  • get your biggest intellectual crush to write the foreword of your book?

  • host the podcast guest of your dreams — whose name alone will get everyone flocking to listen?

  • get that “they’re definitely out of my league” superstar in your field to want to collaborate with you?

  • feel great writing pitches regardless of the answer you get, knowing that you’re approaching people in a way that leaves people feeling honored and appreciated?

This can be your reality…

even if you’re intimidated by asking, like, in general.

(You can’t eliminate 100% of the scary… but it will feel a lot less scary when you know you’re doing it in a way that is thoughtful and genuinely honoring of the other person.)

even if you’ve hated every single cold pitch you’ve ever gotten.

(This class will break down exactly what they’re doing that is thoughtless and sleazy, and how to do it differently so you never have to fear sounding like “them.”)

even if you’re more comfortable with the idea of “letting people come to you.”

(Hey, we’re all for this! This is how we run our own businesses most of the time. But guess what? What are the chances that life-changing, trajectory-shifting, seemingly-miraculous opportunities are just going to come to you? You can just wait and hope you get lucky one day. Or you can proactively create those opportunities — and it’s not as hard as you think.)
